P-AVG, short for Performance Average, is a key distance metric in your Shot Scope stats. It’s designed to give you a more realistic and consistent understanding of how far you typically hit each club — helping you make better on-course decisions.
How Is P-AVG Calculated?
P-AVG is calculated by taking the average distance of your well-struck shots, automatically removing outliers such as:
- Mishits or poorly struck shots
- Punch shots or intentional layups
- Extra-long shots (like downwind or bounce-assisted)
This creates a much more accurate reflection of your true club distances — unlike a simple average, which can be skewed by extremes.
Why It’s Useful
- Helps you better understand your real on-course distances
- Improves club selection and course management
- Removes the guesswork from your yardages by focusing on consistent shot performance
Where to Find P-AVG
You can view your P-AVG for each club by visiting the “My Bag” or “Club Distances” section in the Shot Scope mobile app or dashboard.
